BAFT-IFSA members may appoint representatives to participate on BAFT-IFSA committees. Participation is generally limited to one primary and one alternate representative, with the exception of the Trade Finance Committee, which is open to all member-designated representatives.
BAFT-IFSA committees are organized around general areas of focus that drive the BAFT-IFSA agenda:
Trade Products Group
The Trade Products Group includes Commercial Letter of Credit, Standby Letter of Credit, Bank-to-Bank Reimbursements, Trade Services Product Management, Collections, Trade Compliance, Financial Supply Chain Management and Trade Finance committees, and the Project and Structured Trade Finance subcommittee, which is part of Trade Finance.
Payments Products Group
The Payments Products Group committees address Payments and Investigations (which includes the Interbank Compensation subcommittee), Treasury Operations, Funds Transfer Product Management and Payments Compliance.
Suppliers Committee
The Suppliers Committee focuses on issues related to providing services to the industry, education and interacting with financial institution members of BAFT-IFSA.
Government Relations Committee
The Government Relations Committee focuses on advocacy efforts through government relations and public policy initiatives around the globe.
Legal Advisory Group
The Legal Advisory Group provides expert advice on legislative and regulatory policy, as well as product development that has implications for best practices in the industry.
